LUNCH
From bakery treats to lunch bowls, head here for a kid-friendly midday munch.
BAKERY TREATS
These are good for rock-bottom, empty-fridge, what-do-I-feed-them-when-they-both-need-to-be-in-bed-in-half-an-hour-and-I-haven't-made-lunch panic days.
Preheat oven to 180°C. Slice frozen sheets of puff pastry into four squares. Line one half of each square with thin slices of cheddar and a good layer of kale pesto. Fold into a triangle. Prick holes with fork. Brush with milk. Bake until golden (18-20 minutes). Kale makes everything healthy, right?
Serve with a chutney or solo. Try with vegemite and cheese, leftover bolognese or frozen peas.
MISO VEGE RICE BOWL
Cook brown rice according to pack. In a wok fry some broccoli, mushrooms and kale until they are a soft. Add some chopped ginger and garlic and miso mixed with water until combined. Add brown rice and mix. Sprinkle with torn up nori, sesame seeds, mayonnaise and optional kimchi.
